Dear John,

The Bread Project has applications available now for job training to gain entry into the food industry.

(Please feel free to share this newsletter with others.)
The Bread Project's Job Training

We are accepting applications for our job training program. Two training tracks are available for enrollment.

Open interview sessions will be held 10am - 4pm:
  • March 22-23 at our Cafe/Restaurant Training (Berkeley) location
  • March 24-25 at our Bakery Production Training (Emeryville) location.
Applicants must bring verification of income (e.g. check stubs) and eligibility to work in the US (e.g. Social Security).
Bakery Production Training Track

The 12-week bakery production training track focuses on the skills needed to succeed in batch food making jobs, such as high volume bakery or pastry companies.
Café/Restaurant Training Track

The 9-week restaurant/café training includes instruction in culinary and customer service skills to prepare for employment in food service businesses.
Social Enterprise

Crucial hands on experience is integrated into the training curriculum through the operation of The Bread Project's social enterprises, which include our café, catering service, and bakery.
Job Readiness

Both training tracks include a job readiness component that provides trainees with the skills needed to get and keep jobs, such as resume writing, job search, interviewing, and job retention skills.
Follow-up Services and Supports

The last program component offers post-graduation supports. Follow-up services continue for at least 12 months to help graduates with job supports, counseling, and retention.
Warm regards,
