To help trainees make the transition into employment, the program includes a job readiness component. This curriculum is a key component of the training program. In addition to a host of soft skills, the curriculum includes lessons on professionalism, resume building, job search and interviewing. Throughout the training session, we aim to provide individualized assistance in completing the training and securing employment.

On-the-Job Experience

Our social enterprises provide trainees with opportunities for crucial hands on experience in our wholesale bakery. Additionally, the proceeds from these enterprises are invested back into the training program. We are building on our double bottom line to provide the training needed to succeed in the food industry and to grow market opportunities that strengthens our fiscal and social sustainability.

Follow-Up & Job Retention Supports

The last program component offers post-graduation supports. Follow-up services continue for at least 15 months to help with job search, interview preparation, and mitigating challenges on the job.  Graduates have access to weekly job leads, the Emeryville computer lab, and assistance from the Program staff. Check-ins are conducted monthly.
