The Bread Project has helped many disadvantaged low-income people overcome their barriers to employment and work toward self-sufficiency. Our graduates are enabled to support their families and be productive members in their communities.

In its ten years of operation, The Bread Project has achieved enviable successe. We have graduated more than 700 trainees and helped over 500 find jobs. Cumulatively, the program has a 86% graduation rate, a 74% employment rate, and an 83% retention rate.

The Bread Project has received numerous awards and citations from community groups, agencies, city and county governments, the California Assembly, and the U.S. Congress. We have also attracted widespread media attention in the Bay Area’s newspapers, radio and television programs.
